Sunny weekends are always something that I look forward to. It's quite an irony that back in Malaysia I dislike the hot sun; yet in New Zealand I long for sunny weather all the time!
Weather has been superb today. My friends and I visited Christchurch Gondola, one of the best attractions in Christchurch. It is about 30 minutes drive from Riccarton, or 15 minutes drive from the City Center, although we somewhat lost our way to Heathcote Valley. Hehe!
That was how we traveled through the 945 meters gondola ride.
Top base station, where unique 360-degree views of Christchurch, the Canterbury Plains, Southern Alps, Banks Peninsula and Pacific Ocean unfold.
Stunning afternoon and evening view of New Brighton Beach.
Twilight dusk.
It's getting darker. The day is short in winter. The ticket costs $22/adult for Gondola only, or $30/adult for Gondola and Tram combo pass. I bought myself a City2Sky annual pass for $45, to be able to visit Christchurch Gondola and Tram unlimitedly. Yeah, it's quite expensive for a student. My pocket is dry now. Somehow, being able to enjoy the daylight, sunset, and night scene at one of the most spectacular summits is all worthwhile!

looks very calm the entire area...reminds me of Loch Ness Lake in Scotland (er...though i only watched it on tv before...din manage to go there).
